ABOUT POWFLIP:
Pow Flip was started with the intention of giving Ean Nissim and myself (David Grimshaw) a place to display our comics on the web. I've extended my part of the site to include my photography, music, and various other things of interest.
The name Pow Flip is taken from a comic by Kent Lopez that used the sound effect "POW! - FLIP!". Kent and I used to have comic duels in middleschool. One character we drew was Bladdo the cow - a cow with wheels instead of legs, and a small sattellite dish intead of a tale. Since the website was intended for comics, it was appropriate to use a comic sound effect as its name.
ABOUT D.A. Grimshaw:
In 2004 he drew the poster for World Toy Camera Day, which was used (big surprise) around the world to promote that year's WTCD.
From August 2005 through June 2007 Grimshaw drew comics for entervoid.com under the pseudonym King Pong.
In september of 2007 he illustrated the poster for his friend, Bryce Lewis's memorial bicycle ride. Lewis had been struck and killed while riding his bicycle earlier that month.
In 2007 he designed several posters for the band Element Unseen.
He is currently working on several long term photographic and comic projects.
